Salary: £17,500

Host Organisation: Arches School Sport Partnership
Term: 1 year (to be extended pending funding)

 
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a progressive team to develop sport for young people aged 16-19 in the Sheffield area.

You will have experience of inspiring and supporting young people, volunteers, coaches and peers in sport related activities and a sound understanding of the principles of Sports Development.

FE Sport Co-ordinator - Outline of the Role

This exciting new programme will focus on increasing participation in sport by young people aged 16-19, with a focus on the FE sector. It will play a crucial role in supporting the drive to increase participation in schools, 6th Form Colleges and Further Education Colleges and also within the local community.

The network will play a key role in delivering the recently announced target of 3 hours of sport for young people aged 16-19, as part of the “5 hour offer” The FE Sport Co-ordinators will become an integral part of the highly successful school and community sport infrastructure, working closely with the network of School Sport Partnerships (SSP’s) and County Sport Partnerships (CSP’s). They will focus on developing the provision and opportunities for 16-19 year olds in the FE sector, which is regarded as a vital age and environment, in the context of a lifetime commitment to sport and physical activity.

The FE Sport Co-ordinators will co-ordinate and develop FE College based enrichment activities related to participation in sport (including volunteering), inter and intra college competition, the positioning and development of the college gifted and talented provision within the overall player pathway and establishing links with clubs and other sports providers in the wider community. The post holder will also develop links with the School Sport Partnership network, Community Sport Network and wider sport and youth sectors.
